Digital printing machines

Our digital machines are environmentally sound. They use no heat (electricity) to form the type. Our paper is recycled and/or 100% registered EU environmentally friendly.

Church and religious magazines

Our short run prices are specifically designed to make short-run benefice magazines sustainable

Commercial collectives

When business people need a voice then we can help. Short runs are invaluable to local businesses,  agricultural groups, holiday destination groups keen to promote their area.

Special interest groups and charities

We print magazines from canal groups, museums, restoration groups and many others which help small membership organisations in producing a sustainable magazine

Community communication

Sometimes communities simply need to communicate internally, parish plans, local plans, questionnaires - whatever is needed, we can print it - from short to long runs

Parish magazines

As with church magazines, we know that smaller parishes find it difficult to print short runs at reasonable prices, our service makes the printing of the smallest run sustainable

Welcome ...

... to the website of Parish and Community Magazine Printers. We are based in Whitstone on the Cornish side of the Devon/Cornwall border.

We produce a number of parish magazines and other printing services and have built up good relationships with our clients, our emphasis being, if an Editor has an idea which will make their lot easier, we’ll see if we can do it.

We know that cost is a major factor in making a parish magazine sustainable. We charge the minimum price we can no matter what size the run.

Collection of magazines from the printer is always likely to cause sustainability issues, especially with the price of fuel and getting to the printer before it closes, holiday periods etc. For that reason all our quotes include delivery to an address in your area.

Are you producing a local magazine?

  • Relying on volunteers to print, fold and staple them
  • Does someone have to buy and get paper and staples?
  • Are you producing more copies than when you first started?
  • Are the pictures b&w and don't really convey the event?
  • What happens when the key people stop doing it?
  • What happens when the printer stops or needs major parts?

Are you using a commercial printer?

  • Does someone have to use their petrol collecting it?
  • Are they printing in colour to make events interesting?
  • Are you fixed to a print slot which makes recording some events difficult?
  • Are you fixed to a print slot which makes illness impossible?
  • Do you get a quick turnaround which means you can report on that important meeting?
  • Does your printer have a partnership approach with Editors to ask how they can make things easier?
  • Have you made plans for if your present printer is ill or closed down?

The sustainable alternative

You should be considering the sustainability of you publication. If your own printing machine does break down then it will do it in the middle of printing your magazine and not with two weeks' notice. If your printer closes down then the first you will know is when you call in to pick up the publication. A great many publications which we print have come to us because their printer simply disappeared without warning. With no overheads or debt and other printing machines here at the ready, our customers can be assured of their publication delivery.

The most unsustainable issue with any magazine however could well be overreliance and asking too much of volunteers. Eventually volunteers move on or just can't find the time, get ill or get fed up. Our service obviously relies on an Editor but that aside there are no other factors (deep snow excepted) that might prevent the safe delivery of your publication, packaged and on time.
